Laser Hair Removal For Legs
Laser Hair Removal for Legs in Colchester, Essex
Shaving your legs can take time, only for prickly regrowth to appear again before you’ve had much chance to enjoy the result. Waxing means regular appointments and waiting for the hair to grow back, while ingrown hairs and visible follicular dots can leave your skin looking uneven even after a close shave.
At Remedi Laser in Langham, near Colchester, we offer personalised laser hair removal for the lower legs, upper legs and full legs, including suitable hair on the inner thighs and backs of the thighs. Our aim is lasting hair reduction that makes your routine easier and helps you feel more comfortable in your skin.
Different areas of your legs need different consideration
Hair across your legs is not always uniform. You may have coarse, dark growth on your lower legs, finer hair on your thighs and a more persistent patch along the inner thighs or at the back.
Coarse growth on the thighs can sometimes be influenced by hormones, particularly when it occurs alongside other signs of hormonal hair growth. We discuss your medical history, medication and changes in growth rather than assume every area needs the same treatment.
You might want to spend less time shaving, feel more confident wearing shorts or address recurring ingrown hairs where clothing rubs. Whatever your reason, we assess the areas that matter to you individually.
We are selective about the hair we treat
A thorough consultation is central to your treatment at Remedi. We examine the colour, thickness and distribution of your hair alongside your skin tone before recommending laser.
Dark, coarse hairs generally provide a better target than fine or fair hairs. Blonde, red, grey and white hairs usually respond poorly, and fine hair may not be appropriate to treat—even when it is visible.
We are strict about this: if we do not believe the hair is suitable or likely to respond meaningfully, we will explain why and decline to treat it.
One reason for careful selection is paradoxical hypertrichosis an unexpected increase in hair growth following laser or IPL. This is an uncommon complication reported predominantly on the face and neck, although it can occur elsewhere. We consider that risk alongside the likelihood of benefit, particularly when assessing finer hair.
An honest recommendation matters more to us than selling you a larger treatment area.
Less hair, less repeated irritation
As suitable hair reduces, there can be less need for frequent shaving and fewer opportunities for shaving-related irritation and ingrown hairs.
Laser can also improve the appearance of “strawberry legs” where dark hair within the follicles and repeated hair-removal irritation are contributing to the dots. However, not every dotted or bumpy appearance has the same cause. Existing pigmentation, blocked follicles and conditions such as keratosis pilaris may need additional care.
Where appropriate, we recommend a personalised skincare routine to support your skin alongside your hair-reduction treatment.
Experience and technology tailored to you
Remedi founder Rebecca brings 20 years of industry experience and over 12 years specialising in laser. We use solid-state, fibre-delivered 1064 nm Nd:YAG technology, with settings selected around your skin, hair and patch-test response, and cooling to support comfort.
A course of appointments is needed because hairs grow in different cycles. We explain likely progress, preparation, aftercare and the possibility of maintenance, reviewing your response throughout.
